The firm’s primary goal is the effective management of legal risks for corporations and entities it represents, resolution of client’s disputes and the development of ADR as a field of endeavor beneficial to the Tanzanian legal and economic environment and to provide for appropriate alternatives to both the public and private sectors in Tanzania. Our arbitration practice also includes advising clients and representing them in all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including negotiations, mediation or other forms of ADR.

Prior to establishing the practice in 2014, Ms Kimei was on the client side of the fence for over 10 years as in-house corporate counsel at Stanbic Bank (Standard Bank Group) and National Bank of Commerce (a member of Barclays Africa).Throughout this time, she searched for the standards that have now become core pillars of our mission – Commercially Savvy, Innovative and Low-Cost legal services.
Madeline is an advocate, arbitrator and accredited commercial mediator and dispute resolution specialist who specializing in providing corporate and commercial legal support, domestic and international arbitration, commercial mediation and dispute management.
Ms. Kimei has substantial experience with the Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators (TIArb), National Construction Council (NCC), ICC, CRCICA and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. She has acted as counsel in arbitrations as well as arbitral secretary assisting arbitral tribunals in numerous arbitration matters.
She mainly provides arbitration/ADR consultancies, represents parties in domestic commercial arbitration and or acts as arbitrator, commercial mediator and arbitral secretary in both domestic & international arbitrations under the TIArb, UNCITRAL, CRCICA and ICC Rules and also acts as an arbitral secretary in complex arbitrations.
She serves on the panel of arbitrators of Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA) Southern African Development Community (SADC), National Construction Counsel(NCC), TIArb, Shanghai International Arbitration Center (SHIAC) and China-Africa Joint Arbitration Centre Shanghai(CAJAC).
She is currently the President-Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators (TIArb), Chairperson -Africa Asia Mediation Association, Regional Director – Centre for International Alternative Dispute Resolution (CIADr), and a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration and the LACIAC Court of Arbitration. She is a member of the ICC Africa Commission, the ICC Commission on Arbitration & ADR; a member of the IBA Africa Arbitration Network and SIAC Africa User’s Council. She is a Fellow of the World Mediation Organization (WMO) and Representative of ADR Point for Tanzania.
Madeline often offers tailored trainings to the judiciary on arbitration matters and delivered various courses to various institutions including under the ILI Washington on Online Dispute Resolution (ODR).
Her approach is results-oriented, both in terms of problem solving and in terms of party satisfaction. She focuses to create awareness of the use of alternative means to resolve disputes.
